Fertile Egg

Terms & Conditions

Fertility rates for all breeds are rigorously monitored through weekly assessments utilizing standard candling and hatchability evaluations. Only eggs from flocks consistently achieving fertility rates of 90% or higher are offered for sale, ensuring customers receive high-quality, viable eggs.

All eggs are collected from healthy, well-maintained, and proven fertile breeding stock. However, we cannot guarantee hatch rates. Fertility is verified to the best of our ability at the time of collection, but many factors beyond our control can impact the development of embryos.

A rigorous quality control process is implemented for all eggs before packaging. Each egg undergoes thorough candling to evaluate the air sac and identify any hairline fractures. Furthermore, all eggs are distinctly labelled by breed to ensure precise tracking and identification.

Our breeding season generally extends from August through to February. Upon receipt of an order, customers will be notified at least one to two weeks prior to the shipment of fertile eggs. Eggs will only be dispatched once fertility rates have been confirmed satisfactory and the flock is consistently laying. Egg collection takes place from Friday to Monday to ensure maximum freshness upon delivery.

Customers should understand that a lack of development in an egg doesn’t always indicate infertility. An egg may be fertile, but embryonic growth can fail due to external factors that damage the embryo. Common causes include rough handling, temperature fluctuations or incubation errors.

We post Monday & Tuesday’s (depending on your location) via Australia Post Express services and provide tracking information once your eggs have been posted.

Eggs are carefully packaged to minimize the risk of damage during transit. Despite this, we are not liable for any eggs damaged or delayed during shipping. Postal services can be unpredictable, and conditions such as rough handling or temperature extremes can negatively affect viability.

Postage Packaging:

An Eggspress carton is a specially designed packaging system made from a foam construction and used specifically for shipping hatching eggs. It is engineered to provide extra protection against shocks, vibrations, and temperature fluctuations during transit.

I have achieved consistently reliable results with Australia-wide shipping using the boxed packaging method. Significant care and attention are dedicated to packaging to ensure that all eggs arrive safely and in optimal condition.

Once eggs are delivered, it is the buyer’s responsibility to handle them correctly. This includes resting eggs upon arrival (typically 12–24 hours with the pointy end down), ensuring proper incubation equipment and settings, and maintaining appropriate temperature and humidity levels throughout incubation.

To uphold stringent biosecurity protocols, the farm is not open to public visits. However, collection of orders for local customers can be arranged at a convenient location in either Inverloch or Yinnar, Victoria.
