Pullets

All pullets are sold in good health and have been raised in a clean, well-managed environment. Where applicable, birds are vaccinated and treated for parasites prior to sale. Every reasonable effort is made to ensure the pullets are accurately sexed; however, as with all poultry sexing at a young age, there remains a small margin of error. In the event a bird sold as a pullet is later confirmed to be male, we offer a replacement or refund,  provided proof is given.

Once the birds have left our care, responsibility for their ongoing health and welfare rests with the purchaser.  Once the birds have left our care, we cannot be held responsible for their health or wellbeing. Factors such as transportation stress, integration with other flocks, environmental conditions, injury and the buyer’s handling and setup can all impact a bird’s health after the point of sale. Buyers are encouraged to ensure their facilities are safe & appropriate.

Pullets may be reserved in advance with a deposit. Deposits are non-refundable unless we are unable to supply the birds as agreed. Birds must be collected on the arranged date or within a reasonable period (typically 3 to 5 days) unless otherwise agreed. Failure to collect within the agreed timeframe may result in forfeiture of the deposit and cancellation of the order. In certain cases, a holding fee may apply for extended delays.

Our pullets are vaccinated in stages to align with their age. Younger birds receive vaccinations for coccidiosis and Marek’s disease early in life. As they grow, they are given additional protection through vaccinations for Infectious Laryngotracheitis (ILT) and Mycoplasma. This progressive vaccination schedule helps ensure the birds develop strong immunity and remain healthy as they mature.

Bantam breeds, particularly Pekin bantams & silkies do require a higher level of care than standard-sized chickens due to their smaller size and specific needs. These birds are especially sensitive to cold and damp conditions, which can easily affect their health if not managed carefully. It is important to house them in a dry, draft-free environment with adequate ventilation and soft, clean bedding to prevent issues like respiratory problems and foot infections.
